The government of Uganda has announced that the covid 19 vaccination exercise will be resuming today across the country with priority being given to the medical students.
According to the Ministry of Education and Sports, the phased opening of schools will start with medical students hence the need to prioritize them for vaccination.
The government of Uganda received an additional covid19 vaccines donation of 586,080 from Norway and China. 300,000 doses of Sinovac were from the Chinese government while 286,080 doses of AstraZeneca were from Norway through the COVAX facility.
As of now Uganda has vaccinated a total of 1,152,874 citizens and aims at vaccinating at least 22 million people.
