“I will accept Nabanja’s money,” says Cindy
You have heard of late that some artistes in Kampala have started up a separate association from the Uganda Musicians’ Association (UMA), and they called themselves Superstars. Led by Joseph Mayanja also known as Jose Chameleon, they called their Association the Uganda Superstars Association and shield it behind a federation called Uganda Musicians’ Federation.
To show that they are indeed Superstars and don’t need aid, some of them have told the public that they don’t need Nabbanja’s money. A one Lil Pazo Lunabe told a presenter in an interview that the 100k from Nabbanja can not look after him for even a day.
Well, cut the crap and throw it to those pretenders, dancehall star and president of the Uganda Musicians’ Association(UMA) Cinderella Sanyu also known as Cindy says she is not part of that nonsense. She told the media that she is ready to receive the 100k because she believes it is very useful to her and other artistes. She called upon other artistes in Uganda, not to pretend that they are fine. She advised them to accept the 100k because they need it.
“Many artists can not come out to admit that they need that 100k from Nabanja yet the truth is that they really need it. Many of them are not fine financially because we have not been working for a year now. They want to show the public that they are well off but they are not. For me, when Fiina contacted me on whether to put my name on the list, I told her my name should be the first on the list. When it comes, I will take it. I call upon all artists to accept this money if they can get it because it may help them…,”Cindy said.
If it be a Superstars’ Association and it has members like Rocky Giant and Lil Pazo, then we need to employ the Uganda vocabulary,”Uganda Zaabu”. People we have seen being flogged and screaming like nursery kids are claiming to be fine? Uganda is indeed driving us process by process.
