Airtel Uganda Moves To a 5G Network
Yesterday, Airtel Uganda Managing Director Manoj announced a network series advancement from 4G to 5G, which is by far the 5th network generation mobile network with the highest speed available. In his remarks, he stated that the advancement allows people to connect virtually easily and facilitate online tasks and education.
Prior to the launch, he stated that Airtel conducted tests on 11 towers in Garden City, Industrial Area, Upper Kololo, and Wampewo Avenue, among others, and that the trials were a success and hope to expand their scope to the rest of Uganda.

In 2020, Uganda became the first east African country to test the possibilities of a 5G network with MTN.
