Cheptegei , Mutyaba and Wainwright awarded

“Sportsmen awarded for out standing performances” 

Sportsmen in different fields in Uganda have been awarded by the Real Stars Awards for their outstanding performances in the month of August on Tuesday 7th September 2021 at the Route 256 Restaurant Lugogo Kampala.

Jousha Cheptegei the Olympics golden boy, basketballer Ishmail Wainwright and Express FC midfielder Muzamiru Mutyaba were given accolades following the excellent work in their respective fields of sports.

Cheptegei won a golden medal in the 5000m and silver medal in 10,000m during the 2020 Olympics games in Tokyo Japan. His award was received by the president of Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF), Dominic Outchet.

In basketball, the Uganda silver backs forward Ishmail Wainwright was awarded beating Juma Seiko and Deng Geu. The trio put up a sensetional performance that inspired the Uganda Basketball team into the Semi-finals of the 2021 Afro Basketball championships in Kigali Rwanda.

Finally, in Soccer, the Express Football Club midfielder Muzamiru Mutyaba outshined his club-mates Martin Kizza and goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa to win the award. Mutyaba was outstanding during the CECAFA Kagame Cup in Tanzania where he scored three goals helping his team emerge as champions.
