
Orthodox Pope arrives in Uganda.
Orthodox Christians in Uganda, who spent the whole of last month mourning for their Archbishop, Metropolitan Jonah Lwanga, were on Monday filled with joy after the arrival of their Pope ,His Beatitude Pope Theodore II, the patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa at Entebbe Airport.
Among the many who welcomed him was Honorable Theodore Sekikuubo the member of parliament for Lwemiyaga County, Sembabule District and officials from the Uganda Government.
His Beatitude Pope Theodore II major aim of the visit is to pay respect to the deceased Archbishop and further strengthen the Orthodox fraternity all over the country.
”My joy is mixed with sorrow after spending many years not visiting Uganda but on my return am surfaced with death of my friend Archbishop, Metropolitan Jonah Lwanga”, he said.
His going to spend a full week in the country and his hospitality will be fully catered for by the Uganda Government.
