Power and Elec International Expo 2023 Set to Boost Uganda’s Energy Sector
Kampala, Uganda – The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, in collaboration with Exhibitions & Trade Services India PVT Ltd (ETSIPL), is delighted to announce the forthcoming Power and Elec International Expo 2023, scheduled to take place from July 13-15 at the UMA Show Grounds Multipurpose Hall in Lugogo. With over 100 exhibitors from various countries, including Uganda, India, the UAE, and the UK, this trade show promises to be a significant event for the energy industry.
ETSIPL, a renowned exhibition organizer and promoter based in India, is responsible for coordinating over 50 exhibitions worldwide each year. The decision to hold the expo in Kampala reflects their commitment to showcasing the industry’s potential and exploring untapped opportunities in Uganda.
The Power and Elec International Expo 2023 aims to bring together both national and international players in the power sector, providing a platform to showcase the latest innovations and technologies while facilitating business-to-business interactions. Exhibitors will include manufacturers and suppliers of power products, importers and exporters, energy dealers, electrical and electronics experts, renewable energy and solar product companies, HVAC service providers, and end users. Moreover, key decision-makers from government ministries, departments, and agencies have been invited to engage with industry players during the event.
“The Expo presents an excellent opportunity to foster collaboration and interaction between domestic and international companies, thus facilitating the growth of Uganda’s energy sector,” emphasized Ms. Irene Bateebe, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development.
In addition to technological showcases, the Power and Elec International Expo 2023 will address critical policy challenges faced by the sector, such as bridging technological gaps and promoting national innovation systems that drive technological progress. Under the theme “Connect with the Power, Energy, Electrical, Renewable, and Solar Industry of Uganda,” the event aims to promote innovative technologies, raise awareness, and foster sustainable collaborations within the energy sector.
Supporting the international Expo are local partners including the Uganda National Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Alliance (UNREEEA), the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), the Uganda Solar Energy Association (USEA), and the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA). The India Pavilion, organized with the support of the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), will be a significant highlight of the exhibition. Furthermore, Eastman Solar from the UAE has stepped in as the Gold Sponsor, while Korica Uganda Limited has taken on the role of Silver Sponsor.
