UCU holds 21st Graduation Online.
Uganda Christian University held its 21 st Graduation ceremony on the 22nd of October, 2021 on its Main Campus in Mukono.
The event was an virtual event that was live streamed on the Universities social media pages, UBC television, CBS FM and many other radio stations in the North and western Uganda.
Ninety five first class students were allowed to come on the graduation grounds physically with their one parent in order to observe the Standard Operating Procedures
According to the Vice Chancellor Associate Professor Aaron Mushegyezi says that more than 3000 students graduated and the institution registered more female students graduating than male students.
‘’With such a number of female students graduating, it’s no wonder not a surprise that the best overall student was a female Sore Maureen from Kampala Campus”, he said.
The Chancellor, His Grace The Most Reverend Dr. Stephen Kazimba Mugalu urged the graduates to hold strong professional ethics instilled in them by the University wherever they are going.
‘‘You carry the University’s image, the strong work ethic you carry will either carry our image up or let us down ‘’, he said.
The event was attended by Hon. Dr. John Chrysostom Muyingo the State Minister for Education in Charge of Higher Education who represented the First Lady and the Cabinet Minister of Education and Sports Hon. Janet Kataha Museveni.
Muyingo praised UCU’s organization and academic excellence it progresses every time his committee makes and evaluation report on Higher Institutions of learning.
‘’Am always impressed by this institution, by the way its administration conducts everything, from academics, administration and social responsibility to the community”, he said.
It’s one of the reasons I actually I take pride in this institution not as a minister but as also a resident of Mukono district, he added.
The event was attended by Hon. Peninah Busingye MP for the Elderly, Hon. Namayanja Rosemary former Minister of Information and National Guidance and many others from the Uganda Government.
