Uganda Declaimed Ebola Free

On the 10th of January during the #Ebola accountability forum that brought together different partners to discuss the achievements of the ebola outbreak response in Uganda, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng declared Uganda Ebola Free.

“I now confirm that all transmission chains have been fully interrupted and take this opportunity to declare that one outbreak is over, and Uganda is now free of active Ebola transmission”

In her speech, she explained that the last confirmed case was discharged on 30th November 2022 and since then no new case has emerged. As she concluded she appreciated the president of Uganda, the Ebola task force team, and local leaders and health workers that tirelessly ensures that the Ebola SOPs were fully utilized and further urged the public to keep staying safe.
