Ugandans Mourn Prof. Emmanuel Mutebile

Today marks a year since the death of the 9th governor bank of Uganda late Prof. Emmanuel Mutebile who passed on on 23rd of January 2022.

To honour his memory, the bank of Uganda with other countrymen held a memorial service at All Saints Cathedral Nakasero at 2:00p, a service that was also streamed live on the bank of Uganda’s youtube channel.

Proceeded by Rev. Bishop Hannington Mutebi, who led the sermon, the service brought together friends, colleagues, family and well-wishers including Rt. Hon Amama Mbabazi, David Bahati and many more.

Background.

According to reports, the late Emmanuel Mutebile battled diabetes and kidney failure which were noticed through his numerous visits to hospitals in Canada, Uganda and Kenya where he breathed last. Named Uganda’s most influential economist, the late was appointed governor in 2006, and later in 2011 following his previous services.
